Abstract
GATICA, Noelia Liz. Critiques of Modernity in the Seventies: the Methodological Amplifications of Rodolfo Agoglia and Arturo Roig. Latinoamérica [online]. 2019, n.69, pp.191-218. ISSN 2448-6914. https://doi.org/10.22201/cialc.24486914e.2019.69.57152.
Through theoretical-methodological tools of the history of ideas and practical philosophy, we focus in the early critique of modernity in the reflections of Rodolfo Agoglia and Arturo Roig in the seventies. Specifically, we develop two topics: the claim of violent irrationality that constitutes modern rationality and is still prevailing in the philosophical/scientific/technical discourse; and the possibility of a different course of action of modernity in its relation with otherness. We find that both philosophers from different theoretical positions, assume of ideologies´ problem from the point of view of the position of consciousness in —and not above— the socio-historical contradictions. As a consequence, they vise a different rationality of the logic of capital and which, while discussing the scope of the intellectual praxis, opens a way to the utopian function in the modernity/otherness relationship.
