This paper aims to diagnose was constructed forms in which the relationship between religion and politics in Brazil. Thus, we seek to present the main dynamics in which both spheres dealt with and approached each other. From this, to establish reflections and comparisons between different historical periods, in order to realize that religious intervention in the political system is not a recent phenomenon in Brazil. For this, we examine the political strategies adopted at distinct times by different Christian strands in the country to intervene in the functioning of the State.
