Abstract

OROSPE HERNANDEZ, Mario. Fetishism and anti-fetishism in Enrique Dussel's Philosophy of Liberation. Latinoamérica [online]. 2016, n.62, pp.79-102. ISSN 2448-6914.

In this article it is critically analyzed a fundamental category from Enrique Dussel's Philosophy of Liberation: fetishism. First, a genealogy of the concept is made, in which we specify some crucial differences between the semitic critique to idolatry, from the historical configuration of the mercantilistic discourse of the fetish during the european conquer of sub-saharian Africa. Then, we analyze the theoretical place of fetishism in Dussel's reading of the work of Karl Marx. Here we distinguish three different analytical dimensions of the concept: the logical, the ontological and the ideological. Finally, we review the two dialectical moments of the anti-fetishism process proposed by Dussel.

Keywords : Fetishism; Philosophy of Liberation; Enrique Dussel; Totality; Exteriority.
