Abstract

MIRANDA, Roberto. Trade and politics: Argentina between the powers and non-powers. Latinoamérica [online]. 2014, n.59, pp.41-67. ISSN 2448-6914.

The purpose of this paper is to analyse the relations of Argentina with its main commercial partners in order to determine the role that foreign policy achieve in these relations. For the study we selected two types of commercial partners, countries that were powers in this case Brazil, China and the United States and countries that were not powers and they belong to South America, that is to say Chile, Colombia, Peru and Venezuela. As a result we concluded that Argentinian foreign policy performed a limited international activism and in consequence the commercial relations were wasteful on one hand to reduce situations of dependence and on the other to recover the insertion of the country in the region.

Keywords : Argentina; Foreign Policy; Bilateral Relations; Foreign Trade; Dependence.
