Abstract

The following article's object is to analyze the Paraguayan nationalist discourse made throughout its republican life, how it represents and takes advantage of the woman figure: from the guaraní conquer throughout the contemporary Paraguayan women. We aiso present a short outline of intellectual debate on the concepts of nation, emphasizing its relation with the feminine theme. This analisis discovers similarities with the others nationalist discourses, however it shows, above all, the original features of the Paraguayan discourse. It's ours purpose to interrogate about the myths and the truths hidden behind the image of the Paraguayan woman spread by the nationalism, also the paradoxes it reflects and objectives that it follows.
