Abstract

RIVERA MIR, Sebastián. The Experience of Central American Scholarship Students in Mexico (1922-1928): Living among Deficiencies, Academic Life, and Revolutionary Propaganda. Latinoamérica [online]. 2012, n.55, pp.185-214. ISSN 2448-6914.

This research analyzes the arrival to Mexico of a Central-Americans fellows group during the governments of Álvaro Obregón and Plutarco Elías Calles. These grants attempted to consolidate the cultural ties of the region and expose a positive image of Mexico. This work tries to combine these state policies, with the experiences of students, their mishaps, their academic endeavors and their disappointments. The principal aim is to observe how the plans of the government of Mexico, based on latinoamerican union, holded talks with the students and their goals and how this process was a step forward to consolidate the academic exchange mexican system.
