Abstract
HUAMAN LOPEZ, Carlos. El wayno ayacuchano como tradición oral, poética, musical y dancística. Latinoamérica [online]. 2006, n.42, pp.79-106. ISSN 2448-6914.
The Ayacuchan wayno, which is part of the oral, poetic and dance tradition of the Peruvian cultural region Pokra-Chanka, is a Andean musical genre that since 1980 has been expanding beyond its regional frontiers. The main feature of wayno, that could be pre-Hispanic, is its plasticity that enables it to adapt to different circumstances of the every day and festive lives. On its lyrics one can find the complex historical Peruvian process. The socio-cultural, historical and economical information that it is offered to the listener and reader is a valuable source to know and to interpret Peru’s reality.
