Abstract

GONZALEZ MORFIN, Juan. The Catholic hierarchy and Carrancismo: an approach from ecclesiastical documentary sources. Sig. his [online]. 2019, vol.21, n.42, pp.68-105.  Epub Aug 03, 2020. ISSN 1665-4420.

In his struggle to overthrow Victoriano Huerta, a part of the Carrancistas armies also embarked on a campaign against the hierarchy of the Catholic Church, believing that the Church had collaborated with the coup government. Reprisals arose in varying degrees until the beginning of 1919. The narration of these facts by the aggrieved has not been fully studied and provides interesting data to understand the history of the revolutionary period. In this article, a vision of these facts is drawn from the clerical viewpoint, based mainly on ecclesiastical sources.

Keywords : exile; bishops; government; revolutionaries; constitution.
