Abstract
ALVAREZ-AMPARAN, M. A.; RODRIGUEZ-GOMEZTAGLE, J. and CEDENO-CAERO, L.. Efecto del método de preparación de catalizadores de MoO 3 /Al 2 O 3 para la desulfuración oxidativa de un diesel modelo. Superf. vacío [online]. 2015, vol.28, n.2, pp.40-47. ISSN 1665-3521.
MoO3 supported catalysts were prepared at different conditions, such as: the pH of the impregnating solution, the supported molybdenum loading, impregnation method on boehmite or Al2O3 and thermal treatments. The catalysts were tested in the oxidative desulfurization process (ODS) of a model diesel and were characterized by temperature-programmed reduction (TPR), X-Ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive X-Ray system (SEM-EDX). ODS activity results were discussed in terms of reaction products (sulfones) and the reducibility of the Mo species. ODS activity was improved when the support impregnation was carried out by incipient wetness impregnation method using an impregnating solution with pH = 2 and calcined at 500 °C in continuous oxygen atmosphere. In these preparation conditions, the sulfur content of model diesel can be reduced to less than 10 ppm of the refractory sulfur compounds (DBT, 4-MDBT y 4,6-DMDBT).
