Abstract
REYES-VALADEZ, J.N.; QUINTANA-HERNANDEZ, P.A.; CORONADO-VELASCO, C. and CASTRO-MONTOYA, A. J.. Simulation of the bioethanol production process from a mixture of glucose/xylose including temperature, pH and sugar concentration effects. Rev. Mex. Ing. Quím [online]. 2016, vol.15, n.1, pp.1-9. ISSN 1665-2738.
In this paper it is proposed a modified bioethanol production model that it is based on the Monod kinetic equation. The model includes that effects of subsrate limitation and some pseudo parameters that are function of the operation conditions: temperatura, pH and glucose-xylose concentration. From experimental data reported in the literature it was performed a multivariate analysis, fitting the pseudo parameters. The simulation results with the proposed model are compared against experimental data and against a constant parameter model reported in the literature. The average error obtained with the proposed model is less than the error generated by the model reported in the literature and reproduces the process variables at different operating conditions with an average error of 8.2%.
