Abstract

MIER GARZA, Raymundo. Immanence and poetics: semiosis, reading and expression. Tóp. Sem [online]. 2015, n.33, pp.209-264. ISSN 2594-0619.

The act of reading can be considered the generative source of immanence. This is suggested by the various readings Algirdas Julien Greimas offers as a process for understanding semiosis in On Imperfection. Starting from this fundamental activity, reading, Greimas reapproaches the epistemological horizon of semiotics, and from there, in this article, the concept of immanence is reconstructed, from its Hjelmslevian origins to the most current reformulations. Lastly, we propose that poetics, as an image of thought modality, could be a plane of immanence.

Keywords : semiosis; poetics; expression; immanence; reading.
