Resumen
HARLIZIUS-KLUCK, Ellen. Threads, Hems, Tips and Divine Birth: Textiles as a pathway to the Divine. Tóp. Sem [online]. 2013, n.29, pp.53-72. ISSN 2594-0619.
In the Bible, textiles play an important role in transgressing the border between the human and the divine and in allowing them to encounter. Art historians are more and more aware that this is not only true for texts but also for images. Starting with the hems and tails of the clothes of Virgin Mary, this article investigates the meaning of textiles and textile borders for the incarnation as well as the Immaculate Conception in the Christian context as well as in Greek Antiquity.
