IBARRA URIBE, Luz Marina; FONSECA BAUTISTA, César Darío  and  SANTIAGO GARCIA, Rosana. University social responsibility. Mission and social impacts. Sinéctica [online]. 2020, n.54, e1008.  Epub Aug 07, 2020. ISSN 2007-7033.  https://doi.org/10.31391/s2007-7033(2020)0054-011.

This article reviews one of the theoretical-conceptual approaches about the paradigm of University Social Responsibility (USR), developed by Fraçois Vallaeys: Social impact in organization context and its application in one of the 14 public universities of higher education in Mexico that performs under the USR paradigm. The objective is analyzing how that institution added and assumed its ethical-political-philosophical positioning to the USR concept and its leap to what it may become: A Socially Responsible University. Metodología. To the discursive shelter of that paradigm and taking into consideration its institutional mission, this university increased its coverage and presence in Morelos. The above-generated tension and conflicts to the Federal education authority. Part of these impacts has a deep crisis of viability and sustainability.

Keywords : university social responsibility; mission; social impact; ethics and politic.
