Abstract

This research was conducted within the framework of the Comprehensive Reform of High School Education in order to analyze and understand from the experience of teachers who had recently graduated from the Teacher's Training Program for High School Teachers how they reconstructed the teaching role during the process that intended to help them change from transmitters of knowledge to mediators of learning. The study was conducted in the State of Aguascalientes; the theoretical approach was sociocultural and used the dialectic Hermeneutics as the research method. The refinement of knowledge, changes in epistemological beliefs and practices, the conditions and reasons that favor or inhibit the reconstruction of the teaching role are kernels of meaning which served as basis for the formulation of stages of the reconstruction process of the teaching role: the need to learn, the desire to change, the process of learning and the effects and results of change.
