Abstract

LOPEZ CALVA, Martín. (DI)Misión imposible: Los desafíos de la educación humanista en la sociedad de la información. Sinéctica [online]. 2009, n.32, pp.13-15. ISSN 2007-7033.

This article presents some of the main challenges that a humanistic education has to face in today's information society. Several ideas regarding the recursive and discourse relation between education and humanization are discussed, including the characteristics of the information society and the need to address educational challenges from a complex perspective. Four challenges are underscored (anthropologic, epistemological, ethical and social), and the need of an in-depth analysis over the vision of human beings, knowledge, ethics and society that generate and are generated from the educational process. A critical question arises regarding to what extent these four challenges humanize our current education. Education, as a path in the transformation of the spirit that is needed to "save" humanity must experience a reorganization that leads to fulfils this daunting mission.

Keywords : Humanization; Complexity; Challenges; Anthropologic; Epistemological; Ethical and social.
