Abstract
TRUJILLO-SALAZAR, Lucía. Formal employment and distribution of salary income in Argentina. A study of inequality decompositions in the period 2003-2014. Espiral (Guadalaj.) [online]. 2019, vol.26, n.75, pp.119-157. ISSN 1665-0565. https://doi.org/10.32870/eees.v26i75.7059.
In this article, the objective is to analyze the relationship between the labor formalization process and the reduction of wage inequality that was registered in Argentina in the period 2003-2014, and to provide evidence about the way and scope in which these variables are related. The premise is that labor formality guarantees the extension of the coverage and operation of other labor institutions. The methodology proposed by Firpo, Fortin and Lemieux is implemented, based on what is known as Recentered Influence Function (RIF) regressions. It was found evidence to support the hypothesis linking the reduction of wage inequality with the increase in the formalization of salaried workers in Argentina.
