This article deals with the teaching profession within the ethics of care, as understood by N. Noddings, and with the teaching profession as a public service and privileged scenery of applied ethics. Caring for other citizens, real flesh and bone men and women, is a key in ethics and an unmet demand in the developed societies of our time. Therefore, it is necessary to open the theatre of public discussion on the cultivation of caring teachers for teachers and students acquire the skills to listen and address the interests and needs of the individuals using its services. The methodological procedure, used in the article can only be critical hermeneutics, in order to detect ethical principles and civic values shared about caring, so needed in social life.
