Abstract

This article reviews the process of journalistic construction regarding the health contingency, decreed due to the influenza epidemic and openly recognized by the Mexican government on April the 23rd, 2009. The analysis corpus is composed of 81 front-page news, published in six national newspapers, between -April 24th and May 7th, from the enforcement of school suspension, later on followed by the announced return to normal life. The results presented in a chronological sequence, show the different chapters, actors, strategies and processes that intervened in this history that made Mexico and the world shiver.
