Abstract

MACIAS RICHARD, Carlos. Institutional and corporative responses to the 2009 pandemic: Latin America in the face of multinational actors regarding medicine production. Desacatos [online]. 2010, n.32, pp.63-88. ISSN 2448-5144.

This article analyzes those institutional responses adopted in health care systems in Argentina and Chile (as opposed to those applied in Mexico) facing the upraise of this pandemic of human influenza A (H1N1), and at the same time it examines the response to this emergency in the production cycle of pharmaceutical corporations, manifested by the development and distribution of the first vaccines, designed ex profeso between June and September, 2009.
