In universities, it is essential to recognize the existence of gender violence and take an active role to eradicate them. The gender policies and attention to violence have turned their gaze to these spaces to generate critical knowledge about inequalities in High Education Institutions. Is important make visible the situation in which women and men develop their academic and professional activities and show the advance in the incorporation of gender perspective. The objective of this work is to systematize the research experience and construction of a protocol for the prevention, care and sanction in matters of gender violence, discrimination and sexual harassment in the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán, from the perception of the responsible interdisciplinary team integrated by 12 professionals. The methodology is the systematization of experiences, which from an orderly reconstruction process of experiences allows offering a critical interpretation of it with the intention of rescuing the most relevant learning. The techniques used were the discussion groups and the analysis or reports. The results highlight the lessons learned from the experience linked to issues such as expressions of power, institutional decisions, interdiscipline, teamwork, training processes, resistance to change, socialization and evaluation processes, fundamentally. The importance of the responsibility we have as members of society, as university academic staff and as research teams are discussed.
