BEDOYA RANGEL, Yuliet  and  GONZALEZ BECERRIL, Juan Gabino. Obstacles to the educational integration of immigrants returning to the State of Mexico and Nuevo Leon. Econ. soc. territ [online]. 2021, vol.21, n.66, pp.413-439.  Epub Oct 04, 2021. ISSN 2448-6183.  https://doi.org/10.22136/est20211701.

The objective of this work is to investigate the obstacles of the educational incorporation of immigrants from the state of Mexico and Nuevo Leon returning from abroad. It is argued that the sociodemographic, socioeconomic, housing characteristics, and geographical context are determinant to be registered or not to the educational system of both states. The theoretical approach of the economic sociology of the incorporation and logistic regression models were used. Also, the weight of the different factors that obstruct or facilitate the educational incorporation of returning immigrants was verified. The Intercensal Survey of INEGI of 2015 is used as the source of information.

Keywords : return migration; educational incorporation; demographic characteristics; contextual; logistic regression and odds ratios.
