Abstract

SOUZA, Maria Isabel  and  TEIXEIRA, Keuler Hissa. A spatial analysis of social vulnerability in Alagoas: evidence on women and children. Econ. soc. territ [online]. 2019, vol.19, n.61, pp.451-477.  Epub May 26, 2020. ISSN 2448-6183.  https://doi.org/10.22136/est20191337.

This work analyzes the spatial configuration of social vulnerability indicators related to women and children in the municipalities of Alagoas between 2000 and 2010. The analysis was based on data provided by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). Thus, the exploratory spatial data analysis methodology was used. The results obtained showed the presence of spatial autocorrelation, that is, there is a certain degree of similarity between the municipalities with high or low performance of the analyzed variables.

Keywords : Alagoas; social vulnerability and spatial analysis.
