Abstract
VAZQUEZ, H.J and DACOSTA, O. Alcoholic fermentation: An option for renewable energy production from agricultural residues. Ing. invest. y tecnol. [online]. 2007, vol.8, n.4, pp.249-259. ISSN 2594-0732.
Biotechnology offers several options for generating renewable energy. One of these technologies consists on producing bioethanol by fermentation. Bioethanol is manly used to prepare fuel for motor vehicles. This paper presents a proposal to produce such as fuels with a hundred liters experimental fermentation pilot unit. Results derived from essays are similar, in terms of yield and productivity, to those presented by other systems, if we take into account that our unit works under non sterile conditions, which represents significant energy savings. This technology does not require specialized knowledge for its construction and it would accesible to groups of mexican farmers.
