The objective of this article is to analize and apply the assessment methods of environmental externalities in civil engineering projects. In order to do that, the knowledge of environmental impact assessment methods, as well as procedures for identification and valuation of environmental variables is re quired so a complete identification of impacts and prediction of consequences can be done. By doing this, both positive and negative ef fects of impacts could be assessed environmentally and economically.
