Abstract

MONTOYA-ARCE, Bernardino Jaciel  and  GONZALEZ-BECERRIL, Juan Gabino. The demographic system and transnational migration in the State of Mexico at the beginning of the 21st century. Pap. poblac [online]. 2022, vol.28, n.113, pp.143-191.  Epub Aug 21, 2023. ISSN 2448-7147.  https://doi.org/10.22185/24487147.2022.113.23.

The objective of this text is to locate in the compensating equation the issue of transnational migration from Mexico. This is because with the combination of the information provided by population censuses, sociodemographic surveys and vital statistics, it is possible to know both the state of the population at a given moment and the changes that occur over time. The so-called "compensating equation" is the fundamental formula of demographic analysis and takes into account the population and the components of its change: fertility, mortality and migration. In it emanates the component of transnational or international migration with which the population of the entity is recognized as not closed.

Keywords : Demographic system; fertility; mortality; internal migration and transnational migration.
