Abstract

MIRANDA-JUAREZ, Sarai  and  NAVARRETE, Emma Liliana. Family environment and labor child. Girls and boys labourers from 5 to 11 years-old. Mexico: two moments 2007 and 2013. Pap. poblac [online]. 2016, vol.22, n.89, pp.43-72. ISSN 2448-7147.

In this article, the characteristics of child labor in Mexico are analyzed from the child labor modules National Occupation and Employment Surveys 2007 and 2013. The document focuses on the factors that influence the likelihood to be occupied through three dimensions: individual, family and context. The findings suggest that the family institution as the container for the welfare of children has been losing ground versus individual factors such as gender and age.

Keywords : Child labor; Mexico; surveys.
