Abstract

MENESES-REYES, Rodrigo  and  FONDEVILA, Gustavo. Processes and structures of a violent death: homicides in Mexico City. Pap. poblac [online]. 2012, vol.18, n.74, pp.01-20. ISSN 2448-7147.

This work aims to analyze, in a preliminary and exploratory manner, some sorts of homicidal events that took place in Mexico City. The study is based upon the idea that the situational context of the homicide can be analyzed from two separate dimensions: structure and process. Conceiving the homicidal event as a combination of structures and processes it is intended to respond to different issues related to the situational context of homicide and the quotidian and non-institutional exercise of violence in Mexico City.

Keywords : Processes; structures; homicides; violence; Mexico City.
