Abstract

The study's objective was to identify life conditions of adolescents charged with drug offenses or robbery. The study was based upon a psychosocial perspective. The authors examined the teenagers' records in Centro Tutelar para Menores (Juvenile Detention Center) in the State of Jalisco, Mexico, from September 2006 to August 2007 (12 months). The records included psychological, social, educational, medical and judicial assessments, as well as administrative information. The sample included personal files of 122 adolescents, 50 percent of them were charged with drug offenses and 50 percent with robbery. They were 100 males and 22 females.
