Abstract

FIGUEROA-PEREA, Juan Guillermo. The data construction on men's reproductive behavior in México. Pap. poblac [online]. 2010, vol.16, n.65, pp.131-161. ISSN 2448-7147.

This essay shows a review of the experiences carried out in México when trying to obtain information from men about aspects of their reproductive behavior. It analyzes the contents of certain surveys and discusses the contradictions of opting for more wide-ranging concepts yet restricting them to interviewing women, given the lack of theoretical, methodological and instrumental resources. The text discusses certain practical, theoretical and political dilemmas underlying information gathering exercises with the male population.

Keywords : fertility; male fertility; male population; reproductive health; reproductive behavior; gender; México.
