Abstract

SOLLOVA-MANENOVA, Vera  and  SALGADO-VEGA, Jesús. Occupational segregation by gender in the State of Mexico 1990-2000. Pap. poblac [online]. 2010, vol.16, n.64, pp.189-215. ISSN 2448-7147.

The article raises the evolution of the segregation by occupation in the State of Mexico in 1990-2000. The situation of the labor market during this same period are described and analized. The document provides evidence about the differences of occupations of men and women. In order to measure the occupational differences by sex we used the index proposed by Karmel and MacLachlan (1988). A result an increase of the index during the years of study was observed, because women continued working in traditional jobs.
