Abstract

JUAREZ, Cristina Vanessa  and  ABOITES, Gilberto. Occupational segregation in the Metropolitan Zone of Saltillo. Pap. poblac [online]. 2008, vol.14, n.57, pp.209-225. ISSN 2448-7147.

Occupational segregation by gender characterizes employment in our country. It specially affects women and it is considered one of the main causes associated with remuneration differences between genders. The document presents an analysis of the changes experienced in the labor market of the Metropolitan Zone of Saltillo during the period 1992-2002 and determines the differences as for the amplitude of the sectors and occupations women currently have access to. Finally, the texts argues the pertinence of working by means of the theoretical and methodological plurality developed for this problem's study.

Keywords : occupational segregation; Saltillo; labor market.
