Abstract

Recent studies indicate significant changes in family formation patterns in Argentina, particularly in the City of Buenos Aires. The aim to this paper is to contribute in disentangle the factors that help explain those transformations by examining the role of education in changes in family postponement among men and women. More specifically this paper analyzes the role of educational achievement in the transition to marriage and first union among successive generations (born between 1950 and 1974) of men and women.
