In the present paper the characteristics of the organisation of migrants from the State of Guanajuato are analysed in what has been named "casas Guanajuato", a term used referring to the clubs or associations of people from Guanajuato abroad (Home Town Associations). In this sense, the main objective is to present a general overview of these associations given their migratory and organisational background. For this, works and studies, conducted on the clubs or associations of other states, are linked with regard to displacement patterns, places of migration and origin, and labour activities. Particularly, the same process will be effected for the analysis of the "casas Guanajuato". This analysis allows us to establish the importance of these associations and to recognise social and economical funds of the migrants from Guanajuato in development and enhancement of their communities of origin.
