Abstract

BLANCO, Mercedes  and  PACHECO, Edith. Work and family from a life course theoretical perspective: two subcohorts of mexican women. Pap. poblac [online]. 2003, vol.9, n.38, pp.159-193. ISSN 2448-7147.

The article has a double purpose, on the one hand, the methodological objective is to put in practice the simultaneous utilization of qualitative and quantitative databases and, on the other hand, the theoretical aim is to rescue some of the main principles of the life course theory that privileges, among other elements, the interplay of life trajectories. This double purpose is applied, more specifically, to a diachronic analysis of the work-family articulation for two sub-cohorts of women located in different historical moments of the twentieth century, that is, we are talking of women born in the Mexican Republic during the 1930 and 1950 decades and we carry on a follow-up through the end of the nineties.
