Abstract

CALDERON, Mónica Iris  and  PERLBACH DE MARADONA, Iris. La probabilidad de participar en el mercado de trabajo y la exclusión social en Mendoza, Argentina. Pap. poblac [online]. 2000, vol.6, n.25, pp.121-150. ISSN 2448-7147.

Our aim to identify the different groups put at risk that are most probable to be socially excluded, addresses us to estimate the probability of taking part in the labor market. It is essential to introduce some concepts about poverty and the varied ways of measure it: unsatisfied basic needs, Poverty Line and human development index. The social aspect is complemented with vulnerability indicators. In this research it is used a potentially working population, employed and unemployed and nonworking between 14 and 65 years, that eventually can access to labour market. The participation model used shows personal and human capital stock features. We estimated a probit model based on the EPH. We found expected signs and a good overall degree of adjustment, although we find enough evidence of segmented markets.
