Abstract

HOYOS CASTILLO, Guadalupe. La periferia mexiquense en la apertura de la economía urbana de la Ciudad de México. Pap. poblac [online]. 2000, vol.6, n.23, pp.71-92. ISSN 2448-7147.

With the opening up of the mexican economy, cities have manifested variations in accumulation of production and space. Mexico City reports dynamic segments that try to face out international competition and make adjustments in these urban setting. In an intrametropolitan revision of these transformations, we distinguish the activities that promote the new economy in the north periphery of Mexico City. The metropolitan municipalities of the State of Mexico register new economic functions set up outkying areas distinguished by the density and variety of the consumer market and its corresponding relation with road axes of region integration. The differential growth that modern economic activities bring is based on the competitive centrality and in the multiplication of economic vicinities on the road axes.
