This paper analyzes the institutional model and curriculum of Mexico's Agricultural High Schools, where young people in rural settings obtain an agricultural education by working on school farms. The article reviews the distribution of these schools throughout Mexico, their farming conditions, teachers, financing, and students (including their distribution among the areas of concentration offered, the scope of production, the role of the school co-op, and student participation) as well as some of the results: possible learning, dropout rates, graduation rates, certification, and opportunities for graduates.

Keywords : high school education; job training; technical education; Mexico.
