QUINTANILLA, Susana. Why Is Vasconcelos Important. RMIE [online]. 2017, vol.22, n.75, pp.1281-1303. ISSN 1405-6666.

For more than a century, Mexican intellectual José Vasconcelos has crossed ideological, geographical, disciplinary, and generational borders to become a common referent of history and the current status of education in Mexico. This study focuses on the most relevant aspects of his life and work, as well as on their interpretation, suggesting the need for in-depth study of the political, intellectual, and educational schemes of his time, in the light of new perspectives. The study’s purpose is to contribute to the advancement of Vasconcelos’ legacy among new generations of readers.
