Abstract
LOPEZ-QUITERIO, Alma Epifania. The Relation between Indigenous and Scholastic Learning in the Social Trajectory of Teachers who Work in Indigenous Education: The Case of Valle del Mezquital, Hidalgo, Mexico. RMIE [online]. 2017, vol.22, n.75, pp.1257-1280. ISSN 1405-6666.
The present research, first of all, reconstructs the teachers’ careers that work in an indigenous education and, later, analyzes the way in which their socio-cultural experiences affect their teaching practice. We hold that teachers have a certain identity, as a result of their social experience, consisting of three logics -integration, strategic and subjectivation- involving economic, historical, cultural and institutional factors, which make up teachers’ biography. Ultimately, this study argues that formal and informal educational devices are the spaces that foster a series of experiences that affect teachers’ dispositional systems and contribute to the development of certain educational practices.
