Abstract

The Online Communities of Practice are a place of exchange and cooperative work between students with a common goal. This paper shows the results of a research study based on the analysis of two variables that influence the effective development of college student in the Online Communities of Practice: academic results and the students´ satisfaction of the educational experience. The most significant result is that there is no direct relationship between academic achievement and the level of satisfaction among participants. In conclusion the student satisfaction on educational experience supports the use of Online Communities of Practice in Higher Education.
