Abstract
VAZQUEZ, Alicia. Tasks of Discursive Synthesis and Learning at University: Implied Processes and Difficulties Students Declare. RMIE [online]. 2017, vol.22, n.74, pp.863-887. ISSN 1405-6666.
This article presents the partial results of research carried out with eighteen university students at Universidad Nacional de Río Cuarto, in Argentina. The objective is to discuss the difficulties the students encountered in completing an assignment that required them to prepare a discursive synthesis based on their reading of multiple sources. The students were interviewed on two occasions: before the task, in order to determine the obstacles they would face on completing the task; and after the task, to know the difficulties the students actually experienced. The results and the students’ comments reveal that they developed greater awareness of problems to the degree that they became involved in reading the materials and writing the text.
