Abstract

CABEZAS GONZALEZ, Marcos; SERRATE GONZALEZ, Sara  and  CASILLAS MARTIN, Sonia. Student Evaluations of the Acquisition of General and Specific Competencies from Practicums. Determining Factors. RMIE [online]. 2017, vol.22, n.74, pp.685-704. ISSN 1405-6666.

This article shows the expectations of education students regarding their acquisition of competencies before practice teaching, as well as their evaluation of that acquisition after completing practice teaching. The purpose of the study is to determine if significant differences exist. To reach this end, the selected design was a pre-experimental case study with a pre-test and post-test application. The results reveal the students’ positive evaluation of the acquisition of competencies both before and after their practice teaching. The main conclusion points to the existence of determining factors to explain the differences found in student evaluations, as a function of the type of institution where they do their practice teaching.
