Abstract

RUIZ MORENO, Leonsio; CAMARENA GALLARDO, Patricia  and  DEL RIVERO JIMENEZ, Socorro. Deficient Prerequisites with Mathematical Software in New Concepts: Laplace Transform. RMIE [online]. 2016, vol.21, n.69, pp.349-383. ISSN 1405-6666.

This research is aimed at evaluating the development of engineering students' operational skills in solving contextualized events of the Laplace transform in electrical circuits, with the use of Maple 13 software. The work is centered on the way students address their deficiencies in the mathematical prerequisites of new knowledge of the Laplace transform. The study, based on the theory of mathematics in the context of science, compares students in electronic engineering (control and experimental groups). The results indicate that the use of software in deficient prerequisites improves operational skills in solving events of the Laplace transform. Students can better understand the concepts when there is precision in calculations as well as graphs, and they have fewer detractors when concentrating on the concepts they must construct.
