Abstract

AGUILAR GONZALEZ, Luz Eugenia  and  FREGOSO PERALTA, Gilberto. The Reading of Polyphony and Intertextuality in Scientific Texts. RMIE [online]. 2013, vol.18, n.57, pp.413-435. ISSN 1405-6666.

This paper evaluates graduate students' reading comprehension of the polyphony and intertextuality of scientific texts, from a socio-cognitive perspective. Reading comprehension is a process of integrating experience, previous reading, information processing, and the systematization and analysis of empirical data. This type of reading becomes an indicator of the level of reading comprehension, which is reflected at other moments in scientific work, such as the interpretation of research results or writing. From this perspective, an analysis is made of the reader's mental associations in appropriating knowledge in the educational field. The research contributes to the characterization of scientific texts in education

Keywords : reading comprehension; analysis of discourse; scientific texts; graduate students; Mexico.
