Abstract

At the present time, the generation of knowledge in Latin America includes a large number of studies in the field of social science and the humanities, but a reduced number of studies designed to research the scientific production of dis-tance education and virtual learning environments (VLE). The objective of this article is to present the state of knowledge of education mediated by VLE in the 2001-2010 period, by analyzing undergraduate and graduate theses published during this period. In addition, a presentation is made of a possible alternative for facilitating registration and access to the content of the sources of information identified in the past decade.
