Abstract

This article addresses, from a qualitative perspective, the evaluation of learning in the context of higher education. The first part contains some of the most recent theoretical contributions in the field of evaluation, and the second part presents the results of ethnographic research carried out through case studies at a public Mexican university. The cases covered Law and Educational Science, yet this document will deal only with the former. Some of the principal findings reveal the gap between conceptual progress in the field of evaluation and the evaluating practices of university professors who are rooted in a traditional model.
