Abstract

JUAREZ, Manuel; BUENFIL, Rosa Nidia  and  TRIGUEROS, María. De las prácticas convencionales a los ambientes de aprendizaje colaborativo a distancia: un estudio con profesores de ciencias de bachillerato desde la Teoría de la actividad. RMIE [online]. 2008, vol.13, n.39, pp.1055-1083. ISSN 1405-6666.

This article analyzes, from the perspective of activity theory, the methods used by a group of high school science teachers in science laboratory systems and the systems of Techniques of Collaborative Learning with Information and Communication Technology in Science (TACTICS). A qualitative focus is employed to describe both systems structurally (activity, actions, operations) and dynamically (contradictions). A comparison of the systems leads to an identification of change and persistence in teaching methods, and the possibilities and difficulties teachers face by introducing technological and pedagogical innovations in their methods.

Keywords : information technologies; teachers; teaching methods; science teaching; high school education; Mexico.
