Abstract
BARRIENTOS NORIEGA, Aida Ivonne and TARACENA RUIZ, Elvia. La participación y estilos de gestión escolar de directores de secundaria: un estudio de caso. RMIE [online]. 2008, vol.13, n.36, pp.113-141. ISSN 1405-6666.
The objective of this study was to identify factors implied in the participation and school management styles of general secondary school directors. It is a case study with an historical social approach. The research tools were semi-structured interviews, the direct observation of practices, and the analysis of documents. The study explains the contents, objectives, forms, and results of four directors' participation. Analyzing the participation permitted identifying three styles of management, as well as a series of micro-institutional, macro-institutional and personal elements that interacted to conform and give meaning to management styles during a school's history.
