Resumen
ANDAUR-ARENAS, Daniela y OLIVARES, Tania S.. Egg ultrastructures in five species of Macrolepidopterans with a key for Copitarsia Hampson (Lepidoptera, Ditrysia) eggs. Agrociencia [online]. 2009, vol.43, n.1, pp.49-59. ISSN 2521-9766.
Macrolepidopterans can be identified by the morphological traits of their eggs. This is of utmost importance when lepidopterans are quarantined such as Copitarsia Hampson, especially when they are associated with asparagus (Asparagus officinalis L.) and artichokes (Cynara scolymus L.), as well as with forest lepidopterans, such as Chilecomadia Dyar. In this paper egg chorion microstructures of the following species are described: Bertholdia griseopalpis Rawlins (Arctiidae), Chilecomadia valdiviana (Philippi) (Cossidae), Bryoptera paulinae Ureta (Geometridae), Mallomus mutabilis (Rindge) (Geometridae), and Copitarsia naenoides (Butler) (Noctuidae). Two dichotomous egg keys are included to identify the species of the genera Mallomus (Geometridae) and Copitarsia Hampson (Noctuidae).
