Abstract
FLORES-MORALES, E.A. et al. Diversity and tree structure of a managed temperate forest in the municipality of pueblo nuevo, Durango, Mexico. Polibotánica [online]. 2022, n.54, pp.11-26. Epub Sep 12, 2022. ISSN 1405-2768. https://doi.org/10.18387/polibotanica.54.2.
The study was carried out in the ejido La Victoria, located in the municipality of Pueblo Nuevo, Durango, Mexico. The objective of the study was to evaluate the diversity, as well as to measure its horizontal and vertical structure, the data are derived from the forest ejidal inventory. To measure richness and diversity, the Shannon and Margalef indices were used. 7 families and 24 tree species were registered, of which the highest value of importance was the Pinaceae family, whose species with the highest value was Pinus cooperi. The Margalef Index value was 2.67. In relation to the value of species diversity, the value of the Shannon Index was 2.85. The Pretzsch A Index had values of 2.63 with an Amax value of 3.94 and Arel of 68%, which indicates that the evaluated area presents average uniformity The families with greater importance due to their structural contribution in the pine-oak forest of the southwest of the state of Durango are Pinaceae and Fagaceae, the genera Pinus and Quercus are the most important. The temperate forest studied has a medium specific richness and diversity of tree species, as well as a uniform structure based on the results presented by the Pretzsch Index.
